By the end of 2020, the nationwide catering industry to ban the use of non-biodegradable disposable plastic straws; prefecture-level cities above the built-up area, scenic spots of the catering dine-in services, prohibit the use of non-biodegradable disposable plastic tableware. By the end of 2022, the use of non-degradable disposable plastic tableware will be banned in the catering and dine-in services in the built-up areas of counties and scenic spots. By 2025, the intensity of consumption of non-degradable disposable plastic tableware in the catering takeaway area in cities at or above prefecture level will be reduced by 30%.
By the end of 2020, the use of non-degradable plastic bags in shopping malls, supermarkets, pharmacies, bookstores and other places in the built-up areas of municipalities directly under the central government, provincial capitals and cities with separate plans, as well as in catering packaged take-away services and all kinds of exhibition activities, will be prohibited, and the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags will be regulated and restricted in the marketplaces; and the scope of implementation will be expanded to the built-up areas of all the cities above prefecture-level and the built-up areas of counties in coastal areas by the end of 2022. By the end of 2025, the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags will be prohibited in the marketplaces of the above regions.
By the end of 2022, postal express outlets in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong and other provinces and cities will first prohibit the use of non-biodegradable plastic packaging bags, disposable plastic woven bags and so on, and reduce the use of non-biodegradable plastic tape. By the end of 2025, the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags, plastic tapes, disposable plastic woven bags, etc. will be banned at postal express outlets nationwide.
